Founded in 2005 by a nature-loving husband and wife team, the Nature Initiative is an IRS 501(c)(3) charity and environmental organization.  Our mission is to preserve, protect, and rejuvenate the animals, plants, and natural environs that represent the ecological diversity of the Earth.

 

The Nature Initiative works to encourage people to enjoy and explore the wild places of the Earth while also promoting the responsible use of the Earth's ecosystems and resources by:

• Advocating for the preservation, promotion, and rejuvenation of natural environs;

• Demonstrating ways to enjoy all of the Earth's treasures in a respectful way;

• Educating people about their local environment and issues threatening it;

• Encouraging responsible development;

• Providing practical information and advice on ways that people can take action; and

• Supporting local, grassroots initiatives that align with our mission.

We count on donations of our supporters for all of our charitable activities.  One hundred percent of donations goes towards our activities and initiatives.  We have a lean structure, no permanent offices, and no full-time employees.  Our overhead and expenses are paid through separate donations by our founders and board members.
